How to Care for Your Car Wrap

A few easy habits keep your wrap sharp for years. Here's how to wash, protect, and maintain it.
A wrap is an investment — and the good news is it's easy to keep looking fresh for years. Follow these simple habits to protect the finish.
Washing your wrap
- Hand wash with a gentle automotive soap and a soft microfiber mitt. Avoid harsh brushes.
- Skip automatic car washes with stiff brushes — they can lift edges and dull the finish. Touchless washes are okay occasionally.
- Wash regularly — bug splatter, bird droppings, and road grime are easier to remove (and less damaging) when fresh.
- Dry with a clean microfiber towel to avoid water spots.
Protect the finish
- Park in shade or a garage when you can — UV is the enemy of any finish, especially in strong sun.
- Remove contaminants quickly. Bird droppings and tree sap can stain a wrap if left to bake on.
- For gloss wraps, a wrap-safe sealant or ceramic coating made for vinyl adds protection and shine. Avoid wax with petroleum distillates on matte/satin finishes.
Treat satin and matte wraps gently — never use cutting compounds or polishes, which create permanent shiny spots. When in doubt, just soap and water.
Make it last
With basic care, a quality wrap stays sharp for years and peels off cleanly when you're ready for a change — leaving your factory paint protected underneath. Questions about your specific wrap? Just ask us.
